AXT351004 - 4 Pz Div Panzer IV Ausf G, H & Panzer Ausf II L
Echelon Fine Details
Featuring a number of 4.PD Panzer IVs on the eastern front. The bear in various forms and colors. Also included are 3 Panzer II Ausf. Ls and a generic set of numbers used by these tanks under the 4. PD command.
Starting with Schwere Pz.Kp. Meyer Early Tigers, there are two known vehicles with personalised names across the frontal hull armour. The vehicle numbers were also very unique to these tanks, being very narrow and tall (yes, the "8" is really THAT narrow). This is consistent with the Tiger "2" number as well. Together with the white shield and black cross on the lower front hull, these two will make an interesting and colourful pair in a diorama.
The second part, also the primary focus, of this decal sheet covers the very diversified markings and camouflages used by the 502 Tigers. Being the first ever heavy battalion to employ Tiger Is, it received almost every production types minus the late and final versions. Tiger "2" (and very likely "3" as well) were Initial types.
Tiger "311" has been quite an intriguing vehicle that I'm almost quite certain the "11"s were of a lighter shade than the "3"s, this visual information didn't just come from only one view of the real beast. Given that "311" was the first vehicle of 1st platoon, it may (or may not) have received special treatment to its numbers. I leave it to modellers to exercise their discretion on the exact shade they want. Also, almost oblivious to many, the rear bin numbers of "213" (Otto Carius's mount), "224", "311", "312" & "323" are larger than the turret and hull side numbers.
Some of the turret numbers in middle have quite a difficult colour shade to decipher, so both red and black shades were provided.
Of the red with white outline numbers, Tiger "305" received a personalised name on the LHS of the barrel sleeve - "Hildegard".
Lastly, of special mention are the "veteran" Tigers at the bottom of the sheet. Two of the vehicles received no less than 3 different styles of numbers! Also, the white outlined with inner stroked numbers are also very unique to 502. Added to that, the stroked lines in the numbers seems to go only in a bottom-left to top-right fashion, both sides!
From the decal image, one can see that there are 4 distinct marking styles used by the 502 Tigers during the eastern front campaign. 6, if you break down the lower portion of white solid and white outline with inner finely stroked numbers

AXT351007 - LAH Panzer IV (Aysf F1 &F2s) & HG Panzer IV AUsf Gs
Echelon Fine Details
Illustrating the LAH Panzer IV Ausf. F1s and F2s as they were stationed in France. Complete marking set featuring two different Dietrich emblems used, one before they were awarded with oak leaves, and the other with the oak leaf details. Both accurately captured. Not only that, the rear and front emblems were slightly different in size (carefully measured against plans). The full set of numbers comes in close-ended versions as well as open-ended ones. The digit "8" is the most unique of the lot with full circled outline at the bottom part (as seen on "318"). The "8" also comes with regular white outlined version without the full encirclement.
The second part of the set features the style of numbers used by the Pz.Rgt. "HG" when they were in Italy. The Ausf. Gs were the heavily skirted types and painted in tri-color camouflage.

AXT351008 - Schwere Panzerabteilung 506, Gruppe Fehrman Tiger Is
Echelon Fine Details
The 506 emblem did come in two distinct designs, not to mention two sizes as well! From the chronology of photographed 506 Tigers in various production types, it is almost certain that the smaller one was used first (found on Earlys and Mids-early, non-zimmerited), later replaced by the larger one (found on the Mids-later, with zimmerit and Late Production types).
All of the company colors are provided, Stab (black or green - debatable), White for 1st, Red for 2nd and Yellow for 3rd Companies. The 506 numbers have a unique and distinct pattern, not like the irregular hand-painted ones. The only practical way of achieving "standardised" styles and sizes across every vehicle is through a set of stencils.
Also provided are black outlined numbers to be used with the solid types - as some of numbers did come with black outlines.
The second part of the sheet covers two Gruppe Fehrmann Tiger Is - probably the two most covered vehicles in a number of references. Both are "hybrids", meaning Early Tiger Is (Feifel equipments removed) with steel wheels and chevron tracks. Being part of a motley groups of Tigers, both sport very different camouflages, and different inner shades to the turret numbers! The outlines and inner colors are separated just in case modellers don't agree with the latter and prefer to paint in their prefered inner shade.
(Added in 2008 reprint: third Fehrmann Tiger, also a hybrid)

AXT351010 - Panzer Lehr & Das Reich Panthers (Ausf D & A )
Echelon Fine Details
This sheet is an attempt to cover all the alpha-numerics used by the well known Panzer-Lehr and Das Reich Panthers.
The main trouble faced during the production of this marking set is the fact that there aren't a lot of "useful" information covering the two famous Panther units. However, upon closer examination of the available but useful data, they are enough to determine the discernable patterns of the alphanumerics used by the two units. As such, may Echelon Fine Details be bold enough to suggest that this sheet would allow modellers to mark most (if not all) of the Panthers (Ds & As) of the intended panzer divisions.
If you look closely, these aren't just any generic panzer alphanumerics offered out there. The digits utilised by the Panzer-Lehr Panthers feature really thick inner reds outlined by really thin whites (not quite visible in scan on the left). Also, every nook and cranny of the unique digit styles are captured so they are immediately identifiable as Panzer-Lehr turret numbers! Same goes to the Das Reich alphanumeric styles - as all of them are hand-painted and have a certain discernable size and irregular (but unique) pattern to them - probably by a single artist.
One of the main highlights of this sheet is the personalised names found on some the Panzer-Lehr Panthers during the Normandy / Normandie Campaign. So far only two of the names can be associated with full turret numbers: "Gerda" & "Ursula". While the turret numbers of "Ingrid and "Christel" could not be found. Just the same, they are also included, with the hope that the associated turret numbers will one day surface.
The second highlight of this sheet is the two Ernst Barkmann vehicles. One is a late Ausf. D and the other an Ausf. A ("Barkmann's Corner", in Normandy). Together with two other DR panthers, they make up the DR lot featured in this sheet.
All in all, a very tough marking sheet to produce, but hopefully a really useful sheet to fans of Panthers and the two Panther divisions out there.
(Added in 2008 reprint: two more names, generic Lehr emblem and vehicle stencils)

AXT351016 - 1 SS Pz Gren Div
Echelon Fine Details
The second installment of LAH Panzer IVs, this time featuring the Ausf Gs which took part in the intense fighting for the control of Kharkov. Previously mistaken as "red numbered" Ausf Gs, the solid "red" part proved to be the body color, which were not covered with temporary white-wash paint. In some cases, the white-wash near the numbers faded a little thanks to the harsh Russian winter, revealing clearly that the digits were actually white outlines and not solid. This evidence is also backed by a few examples which had the rear turret bins completed untouched by white wash as in the case of tank "528" and "704".
The Ausf G turret numbers were similar to the Ausf F1s and F2s that were stationed in France, as featured in set AXT351007. However, the similarity ended here, as the outlined numbers on Kharkov Ausf Gs were neatly free-handed and very differently styled, not stenciled. Each set of numbers was truely unique to each tank. This also means that AXT351007 and AXT351016 are not interchangeable, unless of course that accuracy is not of a great concern.
Together with a newer, simplified version of the "Dietrich" emblem both in white and black, this set attempts to cover the turret numbers of most of the Kharkov Ausf Gs ever photographed and documented in various books and sources. 16 vehicles in all, this set would be greatly useful to modellers who wish to recreate a more-than-one-vehicle LAH diorama depicting one of the most intense street fighting ever occured during second WWII. It would also allow modellers of stand-alone models a much greater variety of turret numbers depending on what reference they have access to.
It is totally "suicidal" to permanently print the solid part of the numbers with a fixed body color such as panzer grey as nobody can be completely sure of the base color of each tank. Even though a great majority of the tank were thought to be panzer grey underneathe the whites, a few of them looked like dark yellow (quite possibly with dark green or red brown overspray). Therefore, to be on the safe side, the numbers in this set were printed in white outlines, following closely to the real examples. This permits the modellers the greater flexibility of choosing their own base color before applying the decals next, and lastly applying the white-wash carefully. The mentioned procedure was how the real vehicles were done, actually. This of course, means the lesser experienced modellers will have a greater challenge in applying the white wash. To circumvent this, a small paint mask sample is provided, covering three of the more interesting vehicles. Modellers can now paint the prefered body color first, mask out the numbers and spray the white wash before applying the decals last. Alternatively, they can also paint the white wash first, mask out the numbers with the "negative" part and spray the body color before applying the decals finally.
Masks for all marking options could not be provided in this set due to very obvious cost reasons.

AXT351018 - Das Reich & Wiking Panzer III Ausf J/L/Ms
Echelon Fine Details
The set covers two prime users of Panzer III tanks during their ost front campaign: Das Reich and Wiking. The markings for the Das Reich portion covers a wider range of models ranging from PzBwg Ausf. H, L and Ms. Of the L models, one guntank "233" features a personal name, "Ernst Stammler" (in Gothic font) above the turret number . Among the DR tanks, several were of the Kursk period, featuring the yellow Kursk-period marking as well as aerial recognition markings on top of the rear bin, instead of the commonly used flags. Also included are the strictly-DR generic alphanumerics allowing the markings of regimental and company level command tanks ("R"s and "C"s).
The Wiking tanks featured in this set covers specifically 4 Ausf. J vehicles. However, the Wiking-styled generics (also provided) would allow other variants to be covered as well. These included digits from "1" to "5". One interesting observation is that the numbers on the rear bin is narrower as compared to those on the turret sides.

AXT351020 - GD 18 PzAbt, 11 PD, Das Reich Panzer IVs (Ausf F1/F2/G)
Echelon Fine details
The first part of this set covers the famous Grossdeutschland Panzer IVs (Ausf. F1s & F2s). The promiment digits were not crudely hand-painted but clearly and very neatly applied (most probably stenciled).
While there is nothing new about the emblem of 18. Panzer Abteilung, research shows that the rear turret bins of the tanks also carried the marking. One photograph angle showed the turret numbers of a slightly darker shade than the whites of the Abt. emblem and the balkankreuz, hinting that the color could very likely be yellow. Nevertheless, a spare set of white numbers are provided if you're not fully convinced of the yellow. Either way, an all-out attempt was made to capture the emblem of all it's detail and shape.
Das Reich fielded F2 models, mostly likely in 2-tone truppen schemes, with the lighter earth tone sprayed over panzer grey in random wavy patterns. Tank "321", while exhibiting features of a typical Ausf F2 model, was without vision slots on the turret.
Lastly but not last, the well known 6./ and 9./ 15.Panzer Regiment Ausf Gs from 11.Panzer Division in their full glory. The divisional signs in two sizes, some neatly painted, some in "broken" stencil, and also a number crudely painted. The digits are so stylised that it's unmistakably theirs. Interesting enough, "911" featured early war balkankreuz even though it was fully skirted! On some of the turrets, the railroad stencils clearly painted. "924" was the "maverick" of the whole lot, insisting on having it's own stylised turret numbers.
Ost front Panzer IVs? More coming of course, but for now, please feast on the known units that were fighting bitter battles at Kursk, Kharkov and other eastern fronts. First off, how about R03" from 15.Pz.Rgt? Quite a well-known tank whose image(s) have been published in several promiment references.
Next comes "410" from 20.Pz.Div., an interesting winter scheme to whet your appetite for wash-whited tanks, specifically an F1 model. Wide areas around the turret numbers (sides and back) are unwashed - so plenty of panzer grey in stark contrast against the whites! The divisional emblem in black, rarely seen this color.
More 2.Pz.Div markings, this time on an Ausf G armed with the longer Kwk40, L/48. Double-headed war eagle emblem captured to our best ability of course! What's interesting - a chassis number, red tactical rhomboid sign and the famous "Trident" emblem, all in one package.
Next, two "Wiking" Ausf. F2s with white turret numbers. The digit "3" has quite a unique look to it that typifies the number styles befitting SS units. By the way, these are Ausf. F2s without turret vision slots, not the regular version.
Now comes the "whopper" of the set - five Das Reich Ausf Gs. All fought on the bitter and cold Kharkov front except for "612" which was first seen at Kursk, namely "Operation Citadel". Lets not forget "602", a winterketten-fitted tank plus a newly discovered odd feature probably never seen before, the right side of the turret had a vision slot while the left side had none! (If you have seen such turret oddity on another Ausf F2 or G, please share!) All these plus a serious effort to cover all the known digits used by the 2.SS panzers during the Kursk and Kharkov battles. . All are the "broken" outlined types. You can't go wrong with these.
How can a Kharkov set for Ausf. Gs be complete without 3.SS tanks? Together with set AXT351016, you now have a wide range of markings and units catered to the Battle of Kharkov to choose from for your Ausf. G.
Last but not least, how often do you see a tank from the 16.Inf.Div. (Motorised)? Well here it is, turret numbered "411". While the "Wiking" panzers have their famous "sonnenrads" proudly presented, the 16.Inf.Div (Motorised)? The "trifoss" (three feet), this time in yellow! (Many thanks to Stirling for the interesting terms!)

ALT352006 - Lees and Grants Burma & North Africa
Echelon Fine Details
Starting off with the British Lees in Burma, covering five known names in total. These long-barreled Lees belonged to the 150th Regiment RAC, which were reinforced with cannibalised M3 Stuart parts and Valentine tracks.
Next comes the ellusive "Atlanta II", whose marking colours are questionable due to its unknown unit identity. Red or yellow, you make the call. The details of the tank name has been fully captured.
The Scots Greys were active in North Africa. "April V" and "Allysloper" were two of their Grants, along with "Aigreadsios II" (Airgeadsios mispelt, incomplete marking). All were named after famous race horses of that time period (thanks to Ken Jones for his splendid research effort!)
The remaining options are Aussie's 2/9th Regiment Grant, an M3A2 chassis with interesting Australian army camouflage, 1st AD (UK) Grant with the famous blue-squared "8" (complete with WDN), and 3rd CLY's uniquely-marked pair of Grants ("Defiance III" and "Stowford"). Ken Jones aptly called "Defiance III" a "moving billboard" as it was painted with sorts of markings on its front fenders.

ALT352010 - Calgary regiment Churchills at Dieppe (Part 1)
Echelon Fine Details
Part I covers all the tanks of B squadron. Upfront, it was an extremely difficult set to produce. Given that there is already a few very good references at hand, one could still not find all the angles of a single vehicle needed to be be completely sure that nothing is missed.
Keep in mind that of all the allied AFVs so far, the Dieppe churchills are armong the most prominently (and numerously) marked tanks to date. To give an example, BERT alone has 18 markings by itself! And that's just about the average number of markings on each vehicle, give and take a few. To make things worse, the typeset used for vehicle names and registration numbers varied greatly between tanks. It's not just two to three fonts, I've already lost count how many there were! All painstakingly captured down to the finer details given the best references one could get their hands on.
On the topic of colours, there have been two camps on the tac numbers. White or Yellow? To satisfy both, the set comes with white numbers, together with the optional yellow fill-ins. The reason why white cannot be the fill-ins and the yellow cannot be the preset is simple - yellow will bleed through white how strong the latter paint is. Whereas, yellow will have no problem with white underneathe (which is natural where decal production is concerned). So, my apologies to the "Yellow tac number" followers. A little inconvenience will be expected on your part to manually place the yellow fill-ins over the whites.
Next comes the AOS colours, it has been said that Dark Blue over Dark red are for the Artillery branch in the Canadian AOS rule book, thus they are not possible on the Dieppe Churchills. Tan was used instead, and Barry Beldam of the famed Armoured Acorn provided the RGB composition (translated to Pantone numbers). Thanks Barry! Just in case one begs to differ on this, the white AOS numbers have also been provided separately (top corners of the sheet).
The set is good for 4 complete builds, out of a whopping 17 options provided and over 4 different Churchill marks (I, II, III and OKE). Now is this set complete? Nope, sadly I do not have details of BULL, or else it would have been complete.

ALT352015 - Lees and Grants North Africa & Europe
Echelon Fine Details
One of Montgomery's tank, the more interestly marked and colourful of the two, "Monty", is covered in this set, along with another HQ 8th Army Grant.
Next comes the 2nd AD (US) Lee, in reverse colored air-force circle and stars, with prominent turret alpha-numerics, as seen during training at Fort Benning.
Out of the ordinary and slightly rare is a Lee in British camouflage and markings, "BATTLESHIP II". This is a command tank fitted with two antennas in odd locations.
To add variety to this set, two Soviet, two US, and German-captured (which can be in pre-captured status) Lees are included.
Apart from gun tanks, modellers are treated to two recovery tanks based on the M3 chassis. One, a T2 (US) in Sicily, the other a M31 (French) in Normandy.

ALT352016 - Calgary regiment Churchills at Dieppe (Part 2)
Echelon Fine Details
Part II covers all the tanks of C squadron and Regimental HQ. Like set 1, this set was also extremely difficult to produce due to the great number of markings on each tank and a phletora of typesets used for names and registration numbers. Apart from the omission of a Mark II named REGIMENT, this set is as complete as it gets.
To the "Yellow tac number" followers, my frank apologies. Again, like Part 1, a little inconvenience will be expected on your part to manually place the yellow fill-ins over the whites.

D356036 - LSSAH Pz IV Ausf G Kharkov numbers (set A paint mask)
Echelon Fine Details
The answer for Kharkov LSSAH Panzer IV Ausf. Gs that you've always wanted to build. With masks, you can better decide for yourself what base color(s) the 1.SS tanks ought to be: Panzer Grey; Dark Yellow; Dark Yellow with Dark Green camouflage; or even RED (if you still insist on this)!
Set A comes with a mix of 3 vehicles: 205; 226; and 605. It also comes with a duplicate just in case the first piece is messed up! Masks for balkankreuz are provided and also the generic "blank out" for the "Dietrich". Due to the complexity of the 1.SS marking and the limitations of the mask cutter, the actual "Dietrich" emblem is NOT provided. Therefore, you have to source out your own "Dietrich" emblems, either from Dragon's Kharkov Ausf G kit (or other kits), or from AXT351016.
This set can be used in conjunction with AXT351016. If you're after the cleaner "getting ready for epic battle" look when the temporary white wash have been freshly applied, then this set alone is sufficient for that purpose. However, if you prefer an extremely worn-out look on your Ausf Gs such as the excess fading of temporary white wash with the permanent white-outlined turret numbers fully exposed, then AXT351016 is highly recommended to go with this set!

About the material: the low-tack mask material is almost transparent so you can see better of the surface area where each mask goes over. Due to the transparency of the material, the masks can be rather hard to see on the backing sheet. Therefore the edges of each mask is colored so you find each mask easily.

More markings for an oldie. These are GD vehicles with some (not all) late war features. Markings are for 3 complete vehicles. Shouldn't be too difficult to find references as photos of these are widely published in known 8-RAD books. The "Uhu" is captured in its sharpest details.

Markings for a well-known Wiking 8-RAD on the eastern front. Remember the camouflage-clad waffen-SS soldiers all over it? This is the vehicle, can be literally built OOTB using the classic kit with the exception of removing the splash guards on the upper hull forward and rear of turret. The "sonnenrads" (Wiking sunwheel) are tailored to fit the vehicle type - no more hunting for generic ones that may not be properly sized. D356064 - Marder II (sd Kfz 131) on the eastern front
Echelon Fine Details
Fleshy pink for a coal thief's face?! Surely not... According to one very good close-up image of this particular Marder II, the shade inside the face was as dark as the green (assuming that it isn't brown) camouflage splotches around the vehicle. Not only that, the inside shade did not even fully cover the entire face! One can only assume the two cartoon faces (one for each side) were painted over a sprayed splotch of green camo, probably to obtain that dirty thief facial expression. Whether it was done purposely or not, we have no clue. But certainly fleshy pink does not even look that dark...
Okay, if indeed the face was really flesh-coloured, the painter must have taken a lot of trouble to get that single colour can of specially-mixed flesh tone from his supplier into the field. Or just maybe he mail-ordered it, or have it flown in... If not, he would have to obtain 3 cans of paint: red, yellow and white and do very careful mixing by himself to get that fleshy tone... If he did go through all that trouble, obviously he did a very bad job for a nicely detailed face as the flesh shade was still pretty dark... Pretty illogical don't you think?

D356098 - Calgary regiment Dingos at Dieppe
Echelon Fine Details
One set that covers all the marked Dingos at Dieppe that are supported by pictoral documentations. Options for 7 Dingos in all, enough for 3 complete builds (limited only by Allied Flash markings).
Each name faithfully captured down to the last detail. It is not certain what exactly was the colour used for the tac numbers. Thus, three main possibilities were included, with yellow and blue provided as overlays.
Also, included is a set of registration alphanumerics, which is useful across a number of Allied AFVs.
This set compliments the recently released Calgary Regiment Churchill sets: ALT352010 & ALT352016.
